Prayer Letter

 March-April 2024

Dear Praying friends,

     We have been back in the Arctic for three months now since our return from furlough. It has been a good three months, as we have settled back into northern living and ministry. Winter is on its way out and spring is fast approaching! Though temperatures will still be below zero for 4 weeks or more, we are always grateful for the longer, warmer days.

     Our church-planting ministry is pressing onward, and we continue to try to connect, and reconnect with more people so we can share Christ with them and move them closer in their understanding of the Gospel. Sadly, many people are simply apathetic having a “form of godliness” or following some religious traditions and are not interested in truly knowing God. We’ve had a few returning visitors over the last few months, and they have seemed to enjoy the service, but need to be continually “re-invited” for them to consider returning. At times the spiritual oppression we feel is unbelievable, and the Enemy is very active trying to steal the good seed from hearts, and distract them with worldly things. Please continue to pray for the Spirit of God to move in the hearts of the lost and for them to submit to His drawing and trust Christ alone for their salvation. Pray as well for God to direct us to people that are truly seeking Him, and for boldness to speak with them.

     The kids are doing well despite a few colds every now and again. They (Becky included!) are currently enjoying Spring Break for a week until the final push to the end of the school year.

     We are excited to share that we will be having a college student from Ottawa, Ontario coming to work with us for 2 ½ months. Paul will arrive in mid May and leave at the end of July. Please pray for him as he adjusts to northern living, and for us as we work together for the cause of Christ!

     Lord willing our family will yet again be going to Beacon Bible Camp in northern Saskatchewan in late June. This has become the highlight of our summer, and a time of spiritual rejuvenation and fellowship with the directors and other camp staff. The Wings as Eagles Mission Air Service pilots plan to pick us up in Rankin Inlet and fly our family to the camp as they’ve done in years past. Please pray for me as I will be speaking during the Junior week, and for safety and good weather for our flights.
